Private garden sites

A place for bees.
In and around Kassel.

Do you have a garden or suitable plot in Kassel or the immediate surrounding area? Together, we can look at whether it could host an apiary that we can look after as part of our daily work.

What makes a suitable site

Your garden.
And its surroundings.

Looking after bees takes more than a spare patch of grass. We assess each site individually: paths, access, neighbours and forage for the bees all matter.

Space for the apiary

The hives need a suitable space that we can reliably use, with room for our work. We decide how many colonies would fit only after visiting the site.

Vehicle access and transport

We need a practical way to transport equipment and honey. A safe transport route without direct vehicle access may also be suitable.

Reliable access

We need agreed access for regular care and work throughout the year. The location and distance must make this practical.

Surroundings and forage

We also assess the nearby gardens, trees, hedges and other flowering areas. A single flowering garden does not, on its own, determine whether a site is suitable.

Safety and flight paths

We discuss the bees’ flight paths, necessary clearances, paths, play areas and neighbouring uses of the land. We install hives only once we have agreed these details together.

Individual arrangements

We agree the care arrangements, number of colonies and any contribution individually. Your initial enquiry is non-binding.

First contact

A brief introduction is enough.

Tell us the district or approximate location, give a brief description of the space and let us know how to contact you. We do not need an exact address or photos for an initial assessment.

The link opens an email draft. You can add to it, then send it yourself using your email application. No images are uploaded through this website, and no enquiry is sent automatically.

If no email application opens, email us directly at lecker@honig-aus-kassel.de. You can find out how we handle contact details in our privacy policy.
